Copy of Extract of a Letter from Tamaul H.B.M. Consul
to my youngest brother Yeap Seng Chin on the 14th March, 1924.
With reference to your application of November 20th 1919, for registration of your wife and children as British subjects, the question of the National Status of the descendants of your father Yeap Thean Lye, have as you are aware, been for some time under reference to the Foreign
Office in London.
Instructions have now been received to the effect that there is no objection to those members of your family already registered as British subjects continuing to retain their British registration.
Yours faithfully,
Heap Seng Chin, Esq.,
Swatow.
(Signed)
G. H. Phipps.
H.B.M.Consul.
